Dr. Schwaiger is Adjunct Faculty at Bastyr University Clinic and in the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University California.
His clinical interests include primary care medicine, mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression, endocrinology disorders such as hypothyroidism, neurological disorders such as dementia and Parkinson’s, sleep disorders, pain management, cardiovascular disease, digestive disorders, autoimmune conditions, sleep disorders, hormone replacement therapy, low dose naltrexone (LDN), and much more. He has 19 years of experience in injection therapy for pain management including prolotherapy and trigger point therapy. He is a certified HeartMath coach used in stress reduction. He also has an interest in integrative cancer therapy.
Dr. Schwaiger has a strong belief in shared decision making, actively engaging the patient in the healing process. He focuses on personalized medicine noting the importance of tailoring the therapeutic program directly to the individual using evidence based medicine and therapies proven throughout his clinical years.
As a Naturopathic doctor, he can help individuals with non-pharmaceutical approaches to blood pressure, depression, anxiety and insomnia. He works with all age groups and has a wide scope of practice in Arizona and California.
Dr. Schwaiger has been in practice since 1999 and loves being a naturopathic physician. He spent 12 years as a faculty at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM). In 2012, he and his wife moved to Walnut Creek, CA where he taught at the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College located in Berkeley CA until 2014. He was Chief Medical Officer at Bastyr University San Diego until his move to Prescott, AZ in 2016. Dr. Schwaiger recently returned to Bastyr University California as an adjunct faculty.
Education & Affiliations:
Dr. Schwaiger completed a 2-year residency program at SCNM. He holds a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1999 and a Master of Arts in Health Care Management. His undergraduate education was completed at Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, AZ.
