 Dr. Wannigman is an adjunct faculty supervisor at Bastyr University Clinic.


Clinical Interests:

His unique combination of credentials has given him extensive experience utilizing bio-identical hormone replacement therapies (BHRT) to help manage many problems including thyroid, menopause, PMS, low libido, fatigue, insomnia, weight management, ‘Low-T’ and age management.

Healing Philosophy:

Dr. Wannigman’s compassionate and caring interest in his patients is evident in his personable, common sense approach that empowers patients to understand and embrace participation in the their plan of care. His unique background focuses on using natural healing modalities, and diet and lifestyle approaches to create distinct paths toward wellness and effective age management, while concurrently assessing opportunities for patients to reduce their reliance on pharmaceutical drug treatments.

Past Experience:

Dr. Wannigman had a 25-year pharmacy career as a retail pharmacist with Longs Drugs Stores in La Jolla and other San Diego locations. During this time he also worked as a doctor in a successful multidisciplinary integrative medical center in San Diego, where he focused on BHRT as well as injection therapies (prolotherapy) for pain management. Most recently he gained specialized experience as a compounding pharmacist, which further enhanced his knowledge and treatments with BHRT. He has a comprehensive understanding in the use of functional-specialty labs, which can aid in the assessment of dysfunctions that can create disease, as well as helping to guide successful hormone treatment therapies.

Education & Affiliations:

He graduated from pharmacy school at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. After practicing as a pharmacist for over a decade, he was drawn to naturopathic medicine and attended Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, receiving his doctorate in 2002.
