Dr. Hwang is a first-year ND resident at the Bastyr University Clinic who applies integrative approaches using botanical medicine, therapeutic nutrition, preventive medicine and lifestyle counseling.
His clinical interests include gastrointestinal concerns, cardiovascular disease, endocrine abnormalities, immunological disorders, rheumatic conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, integrative oncology, urological problems and preventive medicine.
Dr. Hwang believes in treating the person as a whole being. He enjoys utilizing the latest evidence with the art of medicine to provide the best patient care and clinical expectations. He likes to establish the foundations of health with his patients and incorporate appropriate interventions. He also enjoys working in collaboration with other medical providers, and can serve as adjunctive support in an integrative care team.
Before coming to Bastyr University California, Dr. Hwang completed two years of student rotations at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle, Washington. He also completed preceptorships with three Seattle area physicians, focusing on rheumatology, sports and exercise medicine, and emergency medicine.

Dr. Hwang received his doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, in June 2016. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Hwang is a Member of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association.
